pixie dresses
Carelessly discarded plastic bags caught in barbed wire fences in rural and urban peripheral landscapes become fairy dresses. Through the lens, the everyday is transformed into something magical when fragments of bags torn by the wind come to life in barbed wire and wire mesh fences.
Backlit by natural light, these ordinary pieces of waste become delicate structures reminiscent of gossamer wings, lace or ethereal fairy dresses dancing in the wind. The translucent quality of the plastic, stretched and weathered, creates an almost sculptural presence against the hard metal of the fences.
Each image invites the viewer to reconsider their perception of everyday rubbish. What was once an eyesore becomes an accidental art installation that challenges us to find beauty in unexpected places.
